Networks page

To get to the Networks page on the Homepage you need to select the Networks  from the VIRTUAL DATACENTER block:

net

This action will redirect you to the Networks page where you can find the default public Network, all your own Networks created, and the Networks created during Cluster creation, with their HeadersCreate buttonSearch bar and Actions icon which opens a list of available management actions for the selected Network:

Networks headers includes:

  • Name: Shows the name of the networks;
  • Status: Shows the networks state;

  • Region: Shows which regions the corresponding networks belong to;
  • Admin state: Shows the administrative state of the network, which can be up (true) or down (false);
  • Updated at: Shows when the networks were updated.

Actions icon opens the next list of available management actions but isn't active for default public Network:

  • transition to the Subnets page related to the selected Network;
  • delete unnecessery Networks.

Create a Network

To create a new Network do the following:

  • go to the Networks page and click on the CREATE NETWORK icon in the upper left corner:  net3
  • on the next opened Create Network window specify:
    • Name: in this field you set a name for the Network, it can  contain only Latin letters (a-z, A-Z), digits (0-9), hyphen (-), underscore (_) and must be at most 255 characters long;
    • Description in this field you set a description for the Network, it can include all letters, numbers or symbols and must be no bigger than 255 characters;

To edit a Network you need:

  • to identify the Network you want to edit on the Networks page;
  • click on the Actions icon  ssh9  and select the Edit in the list of available options;
  • on the next opened Edit Network window, update the Name or/and Description of the selected Network, change its administrative state and click on the SAVE  icon:

net6

After these steps, the selected Network will be updated.

Delete a Network

To delete a Network do the following:

  • to identify this unnecessary Network on the Networks page;
  • click on the Actions icon  ssh9  and select the Delete in the list of available options;
  • on the next opened Confirmation window confirm the Network deletion:

net7

After these steps, the selected Network will be deleted.

Subnets page

To open the Subnets page you need to click on the Name of the corresponding Network:

net5-1

This action will redirect you to the Subnets page, where you can find all created Subnets related to the selected Network with their HeadersCreate buttonSearch bar and Actions icon which opens a list of available management actions for the selected Subnets:

net7-1

Subnets headers include:

  • Name: Shows the name of the Subnets;
  • CIDR: Shows Classless Inter-Domain Routing of Subnets;
  • Gateway IP: Shows Gateway IP of Subnets.

Actions icon opens the next list of available management actions:

  • Edit - by this option you can update selected Subnet (change Name, Allocation pools, DNS nameservers, Gateway IP, Host routs, state of DHCP and gateway)
  • Delete - this option is for Subnet removing.

So, from this page you can:

  • review all Subnets  related to the  selected Network;
  • create more Subnets in the selected Network;
  • edit Subnet (change Name, Allocation pools, DNS nameservers, Gateway IP, Host routs, state of DHCP and gateway)
  • delete Subnets for the selected Network.

Create a Subnet

To create a new Subnet do the following:

  • go to the Subnets page and click on the CREATE SUBNET icon in the upper left corner: net10
  • on the next opened Create Subnet window specify:
    • Name: in this field specify a name for the Subnet, it can contain only Latin letters (a-z, A-Z), digits (0-9), hyphen (-), underscore (_) and must be at most 255 characters long;

Manage Networks and Interfaces related to a specific VM

To find all Networks and Interfaces related to the selected Virtual Machine you need to do the following:

  • open the Virtual Machine page - on the Homepage select the Virtual Machines from the VIRTUAL DATACENTER block:

virt

  • open the Virtual Machine details page - click on the Name of the corresponding Virtual Machine:

net11-1

  • open the NETWORKS & SECURITY page of this VM-  click on the NETWORKS & SECURITY TAB:

fw16

On this page you can find two blocks:

  1. the first upper block contains information about all Networks related to the selected VM;
  2. the second one contains information about all Firewalls related to this VM:
net12-1

So, in this article, we are interested in the first upper block of the opened page, more detailed information about the second one you can find in the article Firewalls and Firewall Rules.

In the first upper block you can find all Networks related to the corresponding VM with their HeadersAdd Interface buttonSearch bar and Actions icon which opens a list of available management actions for the selected Network:

net13-1

From this page you can:

  • review all Networks and Interfaces of the VM;
  • add more Interfaces to this VM;
  • remove unnecessary Interfaces from this VM;

Add an Interface

To add additional Interface to the selected VM you need to do the following:

  • click on the ADD INTERFACE icon: int1
  • on the next opened Add interface window select one of the available Networks, specify Fixed IPs and click on the ADD icon:

int2

NOTE:

You can select only Networks that have associated Subnets.
The Fixed IPs should be selected from the Allocation pools of the corresponding Subnet.

After these steps the newly added Interface will appear in the first top block of the NETWORKS & SECURITY tab of the selected VMdetailed page:

int3

Remove an Interface

To remove the Interface from the corresponding VM you need to do the next:
  • to identify unnecessery Interface you want to remove on the NETWORKS & SECURITY tab of the selected VM detailed page;
  • click on the Actions icon  ssh9  and select the Remove in the list of available options;
